(top, shorts, shoes, my winter running faves)
I got dressed first yesterday, and Andrew matched me;). He rode 25 miles in the mountains in 20° weather… I’m amazed. He is getting ready for another mountain biking race soon. His ride was fueled with Skratch and fruit snacks.

Caffeine and cuddles. It’s the best part of the day.

We’ve been delivering a green smoothie to a friend in the mornings, and she is falling in love with them, too.

We got the kids to school, and then it was time to join Emilee’s tempo!

We had a 2-mile w/u and then joined for 2 of her 5-mile tempo. We averaged a 6:21 for those two miles, which was faster than I expected I could go, and I felt very accomplished at the end.

I probably could have kept up for another mile (maybe), but my shoe had been untied for .6 miles, and so stopping at 2 miles really felt like the right time… PSA: Double-knot your speed shoes.

And then it was a normal day around here…

Another favorite part of the day.

He is pretty proud that he can stand up off his saddle.

Dream Pizza request from Skye, with avocado added.

Brooke went with her grandma on her dad’s side, the little kids had their friends over, and Andrew and I prepared for the Winter Olympics by watching this documentary about Scotty James on Netflix. So so good.

A Simple Gratitude Habit That’s Actually Sticking
I started a new habit a few weeks ago, and it has stuck. You know how all of the experts have told us that the more grateful we are, the happier we will be… We all know it’s true, but sometimes it’s hard to be consistent or remember to do this. I wanted to find a time each day that I could remember to really think about what I was grateful for, and I decided to connect gratitude with brushing my teeth. I mean, there’s nothing else to do when we are brushing our teeth, and the Pavlov conditioning has hit hard with me as soon as I hit my electric toothbrush on… So, a few times a day, as soon as I start brushing my teeth, my brain instantly starts thinking about what I am grateful for out of habit. TRY IT!
