That was fun. Emilee had a 3-mile, 2-mile, and 1-mile workout, and I jumped in for the 3-mile interval with her. Emilee was the one to get me dreaming bigger about faster times (I was going to retire after my 2:59 because I thought it wasn’t possible to run faster), but she convinced me to go for more. And here we are, 7 years later, and she is still inspiring me to keep dreaming. 2.5-mile warm-up, 3 miles (some flat, a climb, and down) @ 6:03 average. I was hoping for a 6:15 average, so I was tickled when I saw each mile split as we were going.

It was hair day for me. My hair girl is the best. Not only does she do an amazing job (and for $90!!), but she is so much fun to talk to.

She also brought in warm, sourdough bread with butter and salt, straight from the oven, while my hair was processing. Truly a gem.

Fresh hair makes me feel like I’m a new human.

“We are cooking.” -Beck while we watched USA vs Switzerland Women’s hockey game.

It was an ‘eat everything in our house that is perishable’ kind of a dinner, plus some toast!

We are out of here!

And now for just 3 tangents:

*Saw these stats while watching the Olympics… I thought I had had a lot of injuries until I saw this:

*I realllllllly loved this podcast episode (second time sharing it here;). In the final 20 minutes, she made such a beautiful analogy. She compared our bodies to a home and the difference between living in it and being out on the sidewalk in front… She talked about what it can be like to live in our homes (cozy, a fire going, safety, calm, peaceful, stability) vs. living outside on the sidewalk, looking at our home (worried about what others think of it, comparing paint jobs, etc.). I love this so much because there is nothing like experiencing life within your home vs living on the outside, comparing and worrying about how others experience our homes.

Are we living in our house or outside it?

*FYI, gummy sharks make for excellent running fuel.

What Olympics have you been watching??

What’s the worst injury you have ever had?

-Either my femoral stress fractures in 2011 or that bulging disc in my lower back in 2024.

Any guesses on where we are off to for my birthday trip?

Anyone in your life inspiring you to dream big?
