(long-sleeve, shoes)
My Friday run was a good one. Well, the whole week was a good training week, with 6 x 800s and a 4-mile tempo. I think part of the reason I had a good week of training is that I’ve been doing this thing where I remind myself I’m not too old to run fast. For some reason, the last few months, I’ve been feeling like I’m too old to go after speed again, but in reality, our bodies listen to whatever our minds tell them. The more I tell myself that age is just a number and that I can keep doing what I love for as long as I want, the more my body will listen. While more recovery, strength training, sleep, and yoga have become more important than ever… I’m excited about my new mindset.

It was pretty fitting that I opened up the book Skye and I are reading and saw this…

When you get home and need to do strength work, but you are cold, you can do a chest-and-back workout on the CGX app with a blanket on.

I know when I get the heart-shaped sweat on my tank, I’m working hard ;). Saturday was with Andrew. 10 miles @ 9:33 pace and about 1600 ft of climbing.

Chasing him on the trails is one of my favorite things to do.

After Saturday chores, we went to Rockwell with some family. Now that I’ve tried their Biscoff, I will never get anything else there.

It’s spring break in Utah and we are staying here and planning to spend as much time outside as possible.

It’s so beautiful here right now.

Andrew and I went out for a date. When Beck saw Andrew he asked why he was going to church;). It’s not often he has a collared shirt on.

Skye and I got in a lot of reading together.

We had the family over for Easter dinner! My niece had her tonsils out so we had a soup bar and made this and this soup to give her some softer options.

And an angel food cake, whipped cream, strawberry mix for dinner.

Most importantly, my nephew got engaged! He’s been on the blog since he was younger than Skye and so I was very excited to tell you guys. She is the absolute greatest. I love every minute I get with her.
