(Skye’s shoes, tank, shorts). I put the pictures on and Skye told me what to type. This girl is something else. She inspires me in every way.
Here’s Skye:
So, this is about the race that we do every year, and it’s really fun cause my mom and dad are in charge, and it’s fun because sometimes they get to run with me.
I got new running shoes, and they feel good on my feet.
I woke up Friday morning, and I was real excited for the Fun Run. I got dressed, and then I ate oatmeal. My mom did my hair and then I went to school. I was nervous and so were my friends.

The race started and everyone was sprinting. We go around a big field and then to the roads. And this is when I saw my cousin, Clay. He came to help my mom at the race. This picture is from the really hard hill to run.

My sister did the water station at the end of mile 1. And I was happy to see Brooke.

After I saw Brooke, I tripped, and a kid ran into me, and I fell, and I was bleeding, and it really hurt. I decided to get back up and finish the race. And my friend, Afton, helped me up. We had a mile left. The downhill was fun until I fell, then it wasn’t fun. My fall was the only time I stopped running and I was kind of running then too because I was sliding down the hill;)
I was really happy when I got back to the field. I saw my grandma and Beck.

My dad started riding his bike next to me, and I was really happy about it. And my dad, he rides his bike with the first place people to help them know where to go. But once he was done with that he could come with me.

This is almost by the finish line, and I was really happy because I saw my mom. And then she started running with me. And I was really happy because I was at the end.

This is by the finish line, and my mom and dad rented it from Runner’s Corner. I was really really happy to see my whole family at the end.

This is at the end of the race, and I hugged my mom, and I felt really good when I hugged her.

This is my cut on my arm from the Fun Run, and I have one on my leg. I’m happy I still finished the Fun Run.

This is when you go up in the assembly that my mom does after to get your medal. I got second place in my whole grade. I was really happy I got second place. I wanted to get a medal this year, and I did.

These are what the medals look like.

This is a Core Power, and it’s vanilla, and it’s my favorite Core Power ever. I had it after the race.

This is lunchtime, and my mom said I could pick somewhere to go since I did the race, and I chose Costa Vida. My favorite part is their cinnamon sugar tortilla.

My mom asked me about what I learned from my race. I learned to get back up and keep going. I learned that you should always help someone up, especially if they are hurt like Afton did. I felt really good after I finished the race. I get why my mom does this stuff. I hope I can be in charge of the Fun Run when I am older.
