(zip-up I love and want in more colors AD)
I think Saturday might go down as one of the coldest runs of my entire life. I headed out early, checked the forecast, saw a chance of rain, and decided to risk it without a jacket since it wasn’t raining when I left. A few miles in… boom. It started to pour.
It taught me the same lesson I seem to relearn every December: overdressing > underdressing. You can always shed layers… but there’s no warming up once you’re soaked and cold. Seven miles @ 8:54 pace.

I met up with a friend at the gym who’s an expert lifter, and she was incredibly kind to help me out. She introduced me to reverse sled pulls, and by the end, my heart rate was sky-high, and my legs were absolutely zapped.

Brooke had a scrimmage, and she was happy to get to play again. Winter is a long one for soccer players (but indoor will start soon)!

Always in shorts.

Next up was watching the BYU football game vs Texas Tech. We were praying for a miracle, but the miracle did not happen.

One night, we had the kids’ friends over and decorated sugar cookies (I didn’t love the recipe that I used… someone give me an amazing one, please)!

And then they decided to perform karaoke, which I thoroughly enjoyed watching.

With a blended family and Andrew’s December work schedule, we tried to fit in as many Christmas traditions as possible over the weekend.

We got a tree, and each picked out our 2025 ornaments.

We met with Santa. Brooked asked Santa for a boyfriend, and we all died laughing. Beck asked for a Lego electronic remote-control airplane (and specified that it needed to be the Lego brand, not off-brand). Skye asked for a Utah Mammouth mascot stuffed animal. Knox asked for a new singing voice;)

We even got out to ski for the first time of the season!

There was only one lift open, but it was just what we all needed. A perfect warm-up for many, many hours of skiing this season.

It’s our Skye Jo’s birthday today, and it’s her lucky one–> 8 on the 8th. This girl fills any room she enters with pure joy and laughter. She is more passionate about the things she loves to do than anyone I’ve ever met. She reads like it’s her job, adores the outdoors, is incredibly athletic, graces us with perfectly timed one-liners, and wants to be with her family (including cousins/grandparents, etc) as much as she possibly can. I love this little girl.

I can’t wait to celebrate her today.

If you have a moment, wish Skye a happy birthday, and she will read them… If you want to include where you are from and/or your favorite fruit, she would love that!
