We were at Brian Head over the weekend. Andrew’s parents treated us all to a weekend at a cabin a few hours south, and even cooked all the meals in advance for us to eat while we were there. It was luxurious. We felt spoiled.
Andrew went out to run with me the first morning we were there, but then decided after a mile that running at 10,000 ft was not for him;)
But, I got in 7 miles @ 8:59 pace and felt that 13% incline was pretty ridiculous this high up…
And then we went to the ski resort. I learned how to ski when I was a little girl at this resort. Andrew learned to ski here, too, so that’s a fun coincidence.
Knox and I have made the goal to visit a new-to-us ski resort each winter.
The kids were happy to finally be able to sled at the cabin with their cousins, too.
Day #2, I went out for a run and felt like the elevation slapped me in the face. The second run was much harder. We live at about 4,500 at home and ski at around 7,500 ft, so Brian Head really was quite the change.
I got back to the cabin, and Skye asked to go out for a run. She made this hill look easy.
And then another day at the resort. The snow at Brian Head was much better than it was near us.
Luckily, we could ski for free here with our Sundance season passes.
Beck went down his first Black Diamond, and all of us crashed a few times except for Brooke. She is always in complete control while skiing and never ever crashes.
My MIL was using her ski jacket from decades ago and looked so cute out there on the slopes.
Our Sunday included 9 loads of laundry, Vday nails, Andrew working, church, and then…

Ever had altitude sickness?
-I felt a bit off on day #2 and definitely had to take some medicine for a headache.
