Timpanogos + Friday Favorites.

(shorts, bra, vest, shoes)

It had been FOUR years since I got to the summit of my favorite mountain in the world. It was time. And yesterday was my favorite of any of the times I have done it. We carpooled up to Timpooneke and started from there (you can start from there or Aspen Grove and we prefer the Timpooneke start). My alarm was set for 4:18 a.m., and we started at about 5:30 a.m.

Fun Fact: I got home, and Brooke had just woken up haha. Teenagers are the best.

It wasn’t dark enough for headlamps but it was nice and cool for basically the entire way up.

Just a few water crossings.

At mile 2.5, we came up on some moose. They were on the trail so we waited for probably 15 minutes for them to move into a meadow. Usually, I am very freaked out by moose but yesterday, it felt more like a spiritual experience being so close to them.

I love this picture with them there:

The wildflowers were better than I’ve ever seen them. It felt like a dream.

AND THEN THE BEST PART. We came up to about 20 goats. The baby ones were too cute to be true.

If you ever get a chance to do this trail, please do. It’s pure magic.

We kept heading up for a while with the most perfect views.

I took a gel or candy every 30 minutes, along with an electrolyte tab.

We made it to the saddle (6 miles) and had agreed beforehand that we would decide at the saddle whether to make the last mile up to the summit. Once we got there, we decided to go for it. I’m very glad we did.

The last mile up, we hike the majority of it because the rock is kind of sketchy, but it’s so worth it.

We saw a few more goats up there. And after hanging out up there, we headed down. I did not take one photo on the descent because I am so afraid of tripping. At my ripe age of 40, I have finally reached the age where I think about consequences;). I used to BOMB down this mountain without a thought in the world but now I’m afraid of tripping and take it much slower.

Andrew packed the beautiful cooler of goodies for us to enjoy at the end. He wins. The way down, we were very hot, and so to get to this at the end was the best.

14 miles round trip and I came home feeling like a new woman, healed of anything I needed, thanks to Mt Timpanogos.

And now for the Friday Favorites:

*Use code HCOSHOPMY at Holister to get 20% off your entire purchase at checkout through July 13!! *This tee is so cute and comes in so many colors and is $10, this hoodie and bottoms are so cute, this Henley, and I love this sweater.

*Costco vanilla ice cream is the actual best store-bought ice cream. Nothing compares to it. And the terms “super” and “premium” properly describe the item. We also conducted a taste test of TJ’s vanilla and chocolate sheet cakes. I can’t choose a favorite; they are both perfect.

*You know you love a shirt when you ask them if you can wear it out of the store when you buy it. I found this loose button-up sleeveless blouse (size XS) and never want to take it off. The color is so good, and it’s so lightweight and loose that you don’t even feel like you are wearing anything. OBSESSED. I also got this tank while there (size medium for me), and it is on sale!

*We also stopped by my #1 favorite jewelry store for some anniversary gift shopping–> I left with these earrings, this necklace (I love that it can be worn three different ways), and these rings!

Love love love love. Necklace and rings. (and new tank)

*I need it to rain just so that I can take out my new rain jacket that was a steal of a deal. I love the bow detail in the front! It also comes in red, and it took me a full 24 hours to decide which one to get.

*30% off tees, shorts, swimsuits, and more at JCREW. I love this t-shirt,

*It’s 30% off your Anthropologie purchase on everything new! I need this top. I love and have their beaded bag! And this trench is too good.
