Back home to our own beds and a run with Jess. We did 8 miles @ 8:23 pace while our girls ran together (what a dream!), and then I came home to do some upper-body strength with a Noah Kahan documentary. While I was stretching afterward, I was thinking about one of the many things I really like about getting older… my relationship with my body. FOR SO LONG, exercise was all about a number on the scale for me, and wanting to change every single thing about myself. Now, I find so much joy in moving my body for longevity, mobility, social reasons, and overall health. I’m so grateful for how differently my brain works now, and for a body that allows me to do the things I love to do.

We thought we were done shopping for school, and Beck reminded us that he needed a backpack.

Kindergarten, you have come TOO soon.

These two have their tournament starting soon!

Have you tried out this Japanese Barbecue Sauce from Costco? My kids will eat whatever I put it on, and it was the belle of the ball with dinner last night.

Foods eaten in bowls taste better than foods eaten on plates, in my experience.

Beck calls edamame, edamama:)

Every time I go to Trader Joe’s, I feel the need to try something new to me. Yesterday’s visit had me grabbing the flat taffy to try out. If you love taffy, try this one out. SO good and the perfect subtle flavor.

Let’s get going with the tangents for today:
*I’m a few days late to this, but the first-ever sub-21-hour Badwater happened! Max Jolliffe finished in 20:53:41, setting the new fastest record there, and Carmen Maria Perez set the new women’s record–> 21:05:32 (just 11ish minutes behind Max and 2nd overall!). It was both of their debuts at this race. I complain about running in 80°F weather; how does one’s body do 135 miles with 14.6k of climbing in 120°F?
I LOVE this photo of Carmen:

*I feel like this chocolate croissant from Ballerina Farms deserved its own featured photo. So flaky.

*I saw this shoe (and a pair of ski boots) tree on a run in Park City.

*While running through Oakley, I saw the tiniest Post Office I have ever seen!

*When they make you take your watch off for your tournament but it looks like you are still wearing one…

*Does anyone else play duck, duck, goose on elevators, or is it just our family?

*How many times is too many times to go to the Tetons in a year… I am already craving another trip there.
