That’s the point!

(tank, shoes)

The legs aren’t so fresh anymore;)

Whenever I start training for a race, I feel pretty cool because I can hit the splits pretty well. The workouts are short, and my legs are fresh as a spring flower.

Then you start stacking those workouts week after week. You get some heavy ones back-to-back, and eventually you show up to a speed workout, and your legs are SHOT.

But that’s the point.

All that accumulated fatigue builds strength and prepares us to hit the race paces we want once we finally get fresh legs back during the taper.

Workout accumulation is REAL. So if you’re deep into a training cycle and wondering where your fresh legs went, pat yourself on the back. You’ve got a whole bunch of workouts in those legs, and you’re still showing up and making deposits into that race-day bank account.

This is my current favorite running song:

Happy almost long-sleeve and shorts running weather… I almost wore this one for the warm-up and definitely put it on the second I got back in my car. There was a chill in the early morning. I LOVE this new color/print swiftly that I just bought.

It was picture day for them! And I can’t wait to wear Brooke’s new shirt that she wore for pictures tomorrow;)

Andrew’s adjusting to this whole all-of-the-kids-going-to-school-all-day thing, too.

Hard days hard–> Back and bicep day on the CGX app!

We all needed to touch some grass after the big kids got done with school.

And then we got the littles.

Practices galore!

And surf-and-turf bowls for dinner (aka whatever we had in the freezer), and Knox’s best friend wanted his bowl in the pic, too. We usually have 2-3 extra kids at the table, and the regulars help in the cleanup, too.

Finished up the day by the fire. The more we are outside, the happier I am.
